The 2025 grant program is currently OPEN!

Grants are available to qualified organizations that undertake water supply education, water quality monitoring, or watershed protection projects. Grants may be in the form of funds, technical support, or equipment. The project must address issues within areas served by Fairfax Water or watersheds lying in Fairfax, Loudoun, Prince William, or Fauquier Counties.

Eligible education projects may include seminars, programs, or displays on hydrology, water treatment processes, distribution, non-point source pollution, erosion and sediment control, water quality monitoring, or any related topic.

Eligible water quality monitoring projects may include, but are not limited to, stream flow measurement, water quality constituent concentration, biological health, or erosion.

Eligible watershed protection projects may include stream restoration projects, non-point source pollution management projects or other activities aimed at improving water quality within Fairfax Water’s watershed.

Property owners may apply for a grant to support stabilization projects aimed at restoring the shoreline along the Occoquan Reservoir in accordance with Fairfax Water’s Shoreline Easement Policy.

The guidelines and application can be found here. For a flyer containing a summary of this year’s grant program, click here.

All 2023 applications must be received or post-marked no later than May 15, 2025 to be eligible.
