Protect Our Water: Apply for Fairfax Water Grants by May 15

Fairfax Water offers grants to support projects that protect our water sources and educate communities about where our water comes from.

Eligible applicants include homeowners associations, civic groups, nonprofits, and local or state education and environmental agencies.

Project examples:

  • Education: Programs, seminars, or displays on hydrology, water treatment, pollution prevention, erosion control, or water quality monitoring.
  • Water Quality Monitoring: Stream flow measurement, water quality analysis, biological health assessments, or erosion studies.
  • Watershed Protection: Stream restoration, pollution management, or other activities that improve water quality in Fairfax Water’s watershed.
  • Shoreline Stabilization: Property owners may apply for projects restoring the Occoquan Reservoir shoreline, following Fairfax Water’s Shoreline Easement Policy.
